Position Overview: To edit and create marker files in the Pre-Production department for the optimum material utilization while minimizing the time required in production. Also, to assist the Pre-Production Manager in scheduling, documentation, and pattern management. Cross-trained in various functions in the department to assist with fostering a team-work environment

Job Duties:

  • Accumark marker making and management (includes the following)
  • The goal is to arrange the patterns associated to the marker in such a manner to achieve between 87% - 90% material utilization while minimizing the amount of time required to cut the marker. 87% - 90% should be achieved by editing existing markers, combining sizes and increasing the quantity in the marker.
  • Clear and accurate storage of marker files in the excel file and Accumark. This will be extremely important for tracking material utilization, linking item numbers to files, and controlling the accuracy of the markers produced.
  • Organization and cleanliness of Pre-Production office and computer files/storage
  • Pulling and grouping shop orders for marker preparation based on priority (late orders, areas low on work, etc.)
  • Preparing Shop orders and Markers – Verify the accuracy of the shop order instructions with that of the write-up when necessary. Provide any additional information such as the “promise” and “cut-by” dates, additional work instruction information, customer notes, and any corrections that need to be made. Markers should contain the material information, number of layers to be spread, the item number (if more than one per job card), bar code, and any additional pertinent information.
  • Administration – Relates to the management and organization of the flow and storage of production related information (i.e shop orders, etc.). Maintain a date of two weeks in advance of the request date at a minimum for prepared markers and shop orders. Additional activities include:
  • Preparing markers/shop orders for stock items and stock parts as deemed necessary through customer demand.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications: High school diploma or GED required, undergraduate college degree preferred

Experience: 1 year of experience in marker making or production setting preferred; will consider prior experience in other related areas of additional skills are present.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand or sit for duration of workday.

Working Conditions: Temperature-controlled office environment.
